The 555 Programme is the Etchells Hong Kong training programme.
Purpose
To upskill the Etchells Hong Kong Fleet and introduce new sailors to the Class.
The Etchells fleet provides a training boat called the 555 Programme where sailors can participate in club racing under the guidance of experienced skippers.
The training programme aims to introduce participants to keelboat and Etchells racing, enhancing their technical knowledge of sail trim, strategy, and competitive racing.
Mission
​Our mission is to reduce traditional barriers to sailing in Hong Kong and offer junior and female sailors opportunities. Over 140 sailors participated in the training programme last year. Many subsequently engaged in class boats across the club and big boat racing.
